Manchester United have received a double injury boost ahead of their Premier League final matchday clash with Brighton, MySportDab reports.

Ahead of the run-in, the Red Devils still have a chance to secure European football for next season but must see off Brighton while hoping Newcastle United slip away to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Speaking in his final press conference of the season, Erik ten Hag confirmed Raphael Varane, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season, is back to the turf, including Victor Lindelof.

The pair are said to be in contention to start against the Seagulls with Erik ten Hag hoping to secure all three points against the Roberto De Zerbi-led side to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe.

“We have seen yesterday Licha Martinez [is back], he had a good session now as well. There were also others on the pitch like Rapha Varane, Victor Lindelof, they returned on the pitch. We have to see how far [off a return] they are on Sunday,” ten Hag said in United team news report.

Apart from Varane and Lindelof, the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez are also expected to return to the starting lineup after spells on the sidelines.

The pair were crucial as United eked out a much-needed victory over Newcastle United in the midweek.

Erik ten Hag also confirmed Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw still remain doubts for United. He however added there are plans to have the pair be available for the team ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester City but cannot give assurances whether they could be fit for England 2024 Euros.

“For England, I can’t say, it’s not up to me. But for the cup final, we’re working on [it],” Erik added.

Manchester United will qualify for the UEFA Conference League if they defeat Brighton while Newcastle United loses at Brentford. The Red Devils could also nail a spot in the Europa League if they defeat cross-city rivals Manchester City to win the FA Cup final.
