Manchester United are set to extend Mason Greenwood’s contract, MySportDab reports.

Mason Greenwood will be due back to Manchester United on June 30 when his short-term loan deal with Getafe will expire.

There have been speculations on the future of the English winger on his next stop after his Getafe loan spell.

MySportDab understands Manchester United are open to selling Greenwood this summer. The Old Trafford outfit have slammed a £40m price tag on the youngster.

There have been crops of interest on Greenwood following his roaring return to action with Getafe.  Getafe wanted another loan deal to secure the services of Greenwood.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in a loan move for the player. LaLiga giants Atletico Madrid have also been linked to the player.

Now, according to reports from inews, Manchester United are reportedly set to extend Mason Greenwood’s contract if they don’t secure a good offer for the player.

The report adds United are not ready for a ‘fire sale’ below their £40 cut price for Greenwood, hence are ready to extend his contract to buy time for a good offer.

This means United could likely be open to another loan exit for Mason Greenwood if they can’t secure a £40m offer for the player.

Greenwood has a year left on his Manchester United contract and could be open to a free exit next summer if he goes on a loan deal this season without a new contract.

With a one-year contract extension tied to his deal with United, it is logical the club would want to trigger the extension to buy time for a better offer.
