Marcus Rashford was down to tears before sharing a cryptic social media post after United defeated Manchester City 2-1 to win their 13th FA Cup title, MySportDab reports.

Manchester United young guns, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo fired the club past their noisy neighbors to deny Pep Guardiola his fifth double with City.

Garnacho capitalized on a costly error by Gvardiol to tap home United’s opener in the 17th minute before Kobbie Mainoo produced another brilliant performance, scoring in the 39th minute to double the lead, thanks to a crazy assist by Bruno Fernandes.

Away from what has been a disappointing campaign, the Red Devils were set to cruise to victory as they headed into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Manchester City substitute Jeremy Doku gave City a late lifeline in the 87th minute but it was too late to mount a comeback as United held on to secure a 2-1 win to clinch the trophy.

Rashford hogged the headlines for his high-pitch reaction after the final whistle. In the glares of the Stadium camera which panned to his direction, he broke down in tears as he got overwhelmed with emotions.

After the celebrations, he took to his social media handle to post a cryptic message which reads;

“People want to know what Manchester United means to me.”

Rashford’s emotional reaction to the FA Cup triumph underscored the significance of the triumph to the player after what has been an underwhelming campaign with the club.

The 26-year-old, who has been at United since 2005, endured a difficult campaign with United which saw him temporarily frozen out of the first team, including missing out of Gareth Southgate’s England provisional squad for 2024 Euros.

He has been linked to a possible exit from the club this summer following his unimpressive performances after signing a huge new five-year contract.
