After the departure of their Serie A-winning former manager Luciano Spalleti, Napoli had struggled to find a potent successor for the Italian.
Former Al-Nassr manager Rudi Garcia was appointed as the new manager but struggled to keep the team on the winning lane.
Garcia was shown the exit door after a series of poor performances. A former manager Walter Mazzarri was appointed as the new manager.
Mazzarri got off with a bright start to the campaign but soon fell out badly later in the campaign with a series of poor results.
After a few months in the role, Matazzari was shown the exit door as well with Francesco Calzona brought in as interim manager.
Napoli went under three different hands in a few months and finished the season-worst off, crashing out of all European places at the end of the campaign.
Antonio Conte, who is regarded as one of the most experienced managers in the Italian top-flight, will be expected to return the team to winning ways next season.
He has signed a three-year contract, as per Fabrizio Romano, and will kick off his reign, taking charge of the club’s preseason campaign.
