Andre Onana Wins EPL Save Of The Month [VIDEO]

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has raked home his first Premier League award to assuage what has been an underwhelming debut campaign with the club, MySportDab reports.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper’s incredible reflex save during Man United’s 1-1 draw with Burnley has been voted as the Premier League Save of the Month of April.

The big moment for the former Inter Milan goalkeeper came five minutes after the half-hour. United had failed to clear a free-kick which was fed back into the box by Cullen.

Cullen’s effort fell for Forster who was left unmarked close at the far post. Forster then thumped it straight on goal with a header but Andre Onana produced an incredible stop, pawing the ball away with a rare agility to keep the score barren.

Onana’s agility and positioning allowed him point out the ball with an unimaginable reflex move. It was one of his remarkable saves this season and one enough to count against his underwhelming goalkeeping stats with the Red Devils.

The 26-year-old, whose debut season with United has been far from stellar, has now joined the elite leagues of award-winning Premier League goalkeepers this season, featuring the likes of Matz Sels of Nottingham Forest, Mark Flekken of Brentford, Jordan Pickford of Everton, Wes Foderingham of Sheffield United, Thomas Kaminski of Luton Town, Alphonso Areola of West Ham United, Robert Sanchez of Chelsea, and Alisson Becker of Liverpool.

He is now the 9th goalkeeper to win the award this season with no goalkeeper winning the award twice so far.

The 2022/23 Champions League finalist will hope to maintain an upbeat performance as Manchester United battle for a place in Europe with three games left to wrap up the season.
