Manchester United wave aside their difficult campaign to end the season on a winning note at Elland Road, MySportDab reports.

It was another difficult game for Manchester United who were hoping for a win to secure a European slot depending on Newcastle United’s result at the Gtech Community Stadium against Brentford.

Brighton dominated the game from the start, with a good attacking flair and great possession.

United contested proceedings fervently but were struggling to mount a sustained control of proceedings.

Brighton ran riot on the attack firing 14 attempts with 3 on target before the break. United managed 4 attempts with 3 and settled for 45% possession.

It ended barren at the break but Brighton had a better game than the Red Devils and were looking set to put the struggling United side to the sword.

Meanwhile, at the break, Newcastle United had gone 3-1 up away to Brentford to further leave United hopes for European on the frays.

Brighton continued on their bright start in the second 45 but United improved their game immensely.

In the first few minutes of the second half, the visitors registered three attempts with one target as they spiced up their attack.

Twenty minutes to the regulation time, Manchester United finally got in front, thanks to Diogo Dalot’s goal.

Brighton ramped up attempts to find an equaliser after going down by the lone goal but failed to break down United’s resilient backline.

Late in the game, the Seagulls’ comeback hopes was dealt a final blow when United substitute Rasmus Hojlund scored in the 88th minute to double United’s lead.

The game ended 2-0 with United securing victory to glossed up what has been a disappointing and difficult campaign with a better result.
