“If They Don’t Want Me Anymore, I will Go,” Ten Hag After FA Cup Win

Manchester United manager had strong words for the club’s ownership after leading the club to their 13th FA Cup win, MySportDab reports.

The Dutchman has been under pressure following Manchester United’s largely unsuccessful 2023-24 Premier League campaign.

United finished the season 8th on the Premier League table, dropping out of all European places before heading to the FA Cup final.

Ahead of the FA Cup final, there have been reports United new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to part ways with Erik ten Hag irrespective of the outcome of the FA Cup final clash.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has been confident he will continue in the United dugout as manager next season despite the disappointing campaign.

According to him, he is the right man to turn around United’s fortunes and have had fruitful talks with Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

However, after the FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City, the 54-year-old changed tone on his Man United future when prised by the press.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, he said;

“Two trophies in two seasons and three finals… not bad”.

“If they don’t want me anymore, I’ll go somewhere else and win trophies. That’s what I do”.

Erik ten Hag’s triumph over Manchester City has seen the Dutchman won two trophies in his first two season with Manchester United.

However, he has been criticised for an amorphous style of play and poor player management that has impacted the club’s fortunes in the just-concluded season.

He has one-year left on his Manchester United contract but could become the third Premier League manager to be sacked at the end of the campaign after Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi and Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino.
