Immediate past Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has fired back at the club’s hierarchy for sacking him, MySportDab reports.
In a dramatic turn of events, Barcelona made a shock U-turn on their decision to retain Xavi as the club’s manager ahead of the next campaign.
Recall Barcelona president Joan Laporta had brokered a truce with the aggrieved manager, talking him to rescind his decision to step down at the end of the season.
While the pair seemed to have mended their broken relationship after the truce, things went rough again with Barcelona having to revisit their decision to continue with the club legend next season.
What led to the sudden fallout is yet unclear but close sources reveal the club were incensed by Xavi’s comment that the club may not be able to compete with rivals Real Madrid next season.
Following the fallout, the former Al-Saad manager was shown the exit door with former Bayern Munich manager and German footballing genius Hansi Flick brought onboard as new manager.
Speaking after his sack, Xavi seem to aim a gloomy prediction on the prospects of Hansi Flick in the Barcelona dugout. As shared by Fabrizio Romano, the disgruntled manager said ‘the new manager (Hansi Flick) will suffer unless he keeps winning games.
“I will like to tell the new coach that he will suffer. And that he should be patient. It is a complicated position.
“The only thing that will save the new coach is winning,” he said.
