Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Marc Guiu from Barcelona as their third signing this summer, MySportDab reports.
The Blues have once again completed the signing of another young player to their senior team ahead of the new season.
Marc Guiu move from Barcelona was one which Chelsea pushed with everything to trigger the release clause of the player.
It was confirmed that Barcelona already tabled down a new contract to keep the striker with them for a long term.
However the decision was made to make the move happen with Bayern Munich also making an approach which didn’t work out.
According to Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed an agreement for the deal today which will see other things being done to make it official.
Here Is What Was Said:
“Chelsea reach verbal agreement to sign Marc Guiu from Barcelona.
“Chelsea informed Barcelona about decision to trigger the release clause for Guiu this week — worth €6m.
“Barcelona tried to extend his contract and change the clause… but Marc Guiu decided to try a new chapter.
“The deal will be formally completed later this week.
“Guiu will be part of Chelsea first team under Enzo Maresca for pre-season, not planning for Strasbourg.
“Chelsea see Guiu as big talent with huge potential and also big opportunity with that ‘cheap’ release clause.
There are so much expectations for the player who is just 19 and already showing alot since breaking from the youth team.
Chelsea signing for Marc Guiu will make it their third this summer as Enzo Maresca is expected to get a number of new addition to his side.
