Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reacted to the delay by the club’s hierarchy in making a decision on his future, MySportDab reports
The former Ajax boss has been under pressure following Manchester United’s dismal run in the just-concluded 2023-24 Premier League campaign.
United finished in their worst league position in the campaign, dropping out of all European places after they were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League as well as the EFL Cup.
Following the club’s dwindling fortunes, pressure tanked on ten Hag with reports United’s new hierarchy, under the leadership of football investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are unimpressed with the Dutchman.
Overall, it wasn’t an entirely doomed campaign for ten Hag in the United dugout. At the tail end of the campaign, he weathered the difficult running to lead the club to FA Cup triumph over Manchester City at Wembley.
It was his second final and second trophy in his first two seasons at the club. However, sources close to the club reveal Sir Jim Ratcliffe still wants to take a review of the Dutchman’s performance and take a decision on his future.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed United are deliberating internally on the future of Erik ten Hag with reports a decision could be made soon.
Now, according to The Sun, Erik ten Hag is growingly frustrated with the delay by the club in concluding his future.
“Erik ten Hag has become frustrated at the delay on a decision over his Manchester United future,” The Sun reports.
The Dutchman apparently wants to have his future at the club resolved as soon as possible as he gears up for the next challenge.
He has one year left on his Manchester United contract but will have to wait on the club’s verdict to know whether he will continue as the club’s manager or not.
