Euro 2024 is around the corner, and sports fans are gearing up to watch the four-week celebration of European football both on screens and in fan-filled arenas.
A total of ten football stadiums across Germany will host the tournament as the best teams from the entire continent fight for the coveted trophy this summer.

Munich and Berlin to Host the Opening Match and Final
The big event kicks off on June 14 and will run through July 14, 2024. While the entire country will turn into one major football watch party, ten lucky cities across Germany will get to lend their stadiums to host Europe’s top national teams.
From Hamburg in Northern Germany to Munich in the South and many cities in between, each is gearing up to ensure a vibrant football celebration for the fans and players. As the host, Germany will kick off the event on June 14 in a match against Scotland in Munich’s Allianz Arena.
The home of the renowned FC Bayern Munich Bundesliga team will host three additional group stage matches, one Round-of-16 tie, and one of the semi-finals on July 9. As one of Germany’s football hubs, Munich will be at the heart of Euro 2024 throughout the whole event.
Germany’s capital has the honor of hosting the big final on July 14, where the new European Champion will be crowned. The Olympiastadion will also host major teams during the group stage, including Croatia, the Netherlands, and Spain, which has just revealed a provisional squad for the tournament, and three knockout ties.
Besides Munich, Berlin will be at the center of the celebrations, with Germany’s largest open-air live screening of the event taking place in the capital that will see the iconic Brandenburger Tor turn into the largest football goal in the world.
Ten Stadiums Across Germany Take Part
While Munich and Berlin will get to bookend the event, eight further stadiums across the country will also play their part in the event and turn Germany into one large football celebration.

The groups and the fixtures have been set, which will take place in some of Germany’s biggest stadiums in Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Stuttgart.
Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion will host some of Europe’s top football elite, with title defender Italy, former world champion France, and Portugal’s squad around Cristiano Ronaldo playing at BVB’s home. The iconic arena will also host one of the semi-finals on July 10.

Back-to-back finalist Belgium will visit the Hess metropolis as well, and one of the Round-of-16 ties will take place at the Main River.
Meanwhile, the group matches with world runners-up England and Portugal will be the major highlights at Schalke 04’s Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. This will also be the venue where former World Champions Spain will face off against the current title holder, Italy, during the group stages.
Fans in Leipzig are also in for a treat, with teams including Portugal, France, the Netherlands, and Italy playing at the Red Bull Arena. The Düsseldorf Arena will be yet another host to watch when the former World Champions France and Spain play group matches at Fortuna Düsseldorf’s home.
Stuttgart will also take part in the big event and welcome the hosts to play against Hungary during the group stages. 2021’s semi-finalist, Denmark, will also visit the VfB’s home, and all eyes will be on the Stuttgart Arena when the first quarter-final tie takes place here on July 5.
Later that same day, two of the best teams will fight for a spot in the semi-finals in the North of Germany at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. July 6 will see two quarter-final ties take place in Düsseldorf and Berlin.
The four teams that come out victorious will face off in two semi-final matches in Munich and Dortmund on July 9, and 10 before the grand final will turn all eyes to Berlin, which will take place on July 14.
