Mbappe Out Of Euro 2024? France Confirmed WORRYING Update On Gruesome Nose Injury

France have confirmed a worrying update on Kylian Mbappe’s ghastly nose injury during Les Bleus Euro 2024 opening win over Austria, MySportDab reports.

Kylian Mbappe’s contributions was crucial to France’s only goal of the game which turned out to be a match-winner but the newly-signed Real Madrid forward had an unfortunate night at the merkur spiel arena.

Late in the game, he attempted an aerial challenge but ended up having his nose collide accidentally with Austrian player Danso.

After the challenge, the prolific forward fell awkwardly to the ground clutching his nose. He was covered in blood in a few seconds and had to be attended to by French medics. After the medical assistance, Mbappe could not continue with the game.

MLS-bound former Arsenal, Chelsea, and AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud had to be subbed on in his place.

Following the gruesome injury, there have been reports Kylian Mbappe’s Euro 2024 journey may have ended with the player likely to undergo surgery.

France’s head coach Didier Deschamps’ was overly pessimistic and gave a worrying update on the injury situation after the match. Deschamps’ said;

“He’s not doing well. He’s with the medical staff. His nose got badly hit, that’s for sure. We need to check it out, but it seems quite complicated. Which is very unfortunate for us tonight.”

When quizzed further where Mbappe will be back for the tournament, he said he doesn’t know.

“I don’t have the elements in my hands, the medical staff is checking him out. He didn’t get off lightly. It’s still to be seen. And at this stage, I can’t answer. I don’t know. That’s the black mark from this evening.”

Now a statement by the French Football Federation confirmed the player will not require surgery but will be provided with a mask to continue with the tournament.

“Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during the second part of the Austria-France held this Monday in Düsseldorf.

“The captain of France was treated first by the medical staff and Dr. Franck Le Gall, who diagnosed him with a nose fracture.

“Mbappe will receive treatment in the next few days, but he will not undergo surgery in the immediate future A mask will be made for him so that the number 10 of the French national team can prepare for his return to the competition after a period dedicated to treatment.”

However, it is still unclear whether Mbappe will be back for France’s next match against Netherlands on Friday.
