Iceland claimed a 0-1 victory against England in a friendly match which saw Gareth Southgate suffer shock defeat, MySportDab reports.

The Three Lions had a lot on that plate from the kickoff which saw them trailing behind for most of the game.

The result is something that many would look back and say Gareth Southgate could have done better if his selection were different.

Full Match Report

It was an incredible game in which the Icelanders came prepared matching everything their opponent threw at them.

England had a good start to the encounter which saw them trying to balance things while opportunities were being created on both ends.

Iceland was able to take an early lead from a little opportunity which saw Jón Dagur Þorsteinsson converting in the 12th minute to make it 0-1.

The goal was assisted by Hakon Arnar Haraldsson which came as a shock with things moving forward without anything coming from the home side.

England were behind 0-1 after 45 minutes against Iceland who were perfect in all their dealings and were able to make something count.

There was enough that came in the remaining 45 minutes which saw so many struggles from the Three Lions who had more quality on the pitch.

It was a crazy moment  as John Stones seemed to have been forced out of the match in what could be another injury.

England continued to press but couldn’t make anything count with the game hitting the hour mark and it was still them lacking behind.

It was looking decent for Iceland who kept at it and did well enough to stay ahead of their opponent while making opportunities happen which didn’t brought out anything.

Iceland ended the match claiming a 0-1 victory against England which was well deserved as Gareth Southgate and his players suffered a shock defeat.
