Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has slumped into a fresh scandal again, MySportDab reports.
The embattled forward had made headlines for the wrong reasons throughout the just-concluded 2023-24 campaign. From his less-than-stellar performance in the field to his 24-hour tequila bender, Rashford raised eyebrows with his adventures.
Now, he is set to swarm in the troubled waters again. According to the Sun, Rashford has been caught on an M60 motorway, riding at a high speed of 70mph in his £560,000 Rolls-Royce.
The report adds he has been charged with overspeeding and could be slammed with a hefty fine if he doesn’t come out unscathed.
A hearing into the charge will be conducted in September 2024, as per the report, with the player set to face either three penalties – a confiscation of his license, a ban from driving on the road or a fine.
UK outlets report Rashford could be hit with the maximum fine of £2,500 because he rode on the M60 Motorway and earns a considerable weekly wage enough to attract the maximum fine.
Rashford’s charge came days after he was dropped by Gareth Southgate from England’s 2024 Euros squad. It was the first time he was axed out of the squad by Gareth Southgate, under whom he has won 57 of his 60 caps with the team.
Gareth Southgate’s decision to drop him from the followed his sub-par performances for Manchester United in the just-concluded season.
