Copa America 2024: Paraguay 1-4 Brazil, Vinicius Jr Score BRACE! [VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS]

After a disappointing opening draw against Costa Rica, Brazil finally got off the mark with a thumping 4-1 victory over Paraguay in their second Copa America 2024 Group D clash, MySportDab reports.

Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr starred for the Selecao as they roasted Paraguay to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout of the competition.

Vinicius Jr opened the scoring for the team in the 35th minute, thanks to a brilliant assist by West Ham star and Manchester City target Lucas Paqueta.

Two minutes before the first-half break, Savio doubled the lead as the Dorivial Junior-led side continued on their ascendant run.

In the stoppage time of the first half, Vinicius Jr was on target again to bag his brace and got the team up to a 3-0 lead.

The second half was a no departure from the first as Brazil continued on their dominant display despite a commanding 3-0 lead from the first half. However, Paraguay put up a better showing than they did in the first 45.

Three minutes into the second-half proceedings, they resuscitated hopes of a comeback as Alderete scored to reduce the deficit. Nevertheless, the goal made little or no difference as Brazil got back to their three-goal lead five minutes after the hour mark. Lucas Paqueta scored from the penalty spot to make it 4-1.

Proceedings ended with Brazil securing the commanding 4-1 lead to bag all three points. The win has seen the team go second in the group with 4 points, 2 points behind group leaders Colombia, who have won their two matches to go top of the group with maximum 6 points.
