Manchester City has confirmed his decision on a potential return to Barcelona after his spell with Manchester City, MySportDab reports.

After leading Manchester City to a seventh Premier League title, his sixth with the club, and his fourth consecutive England Championship triumph, Guardiola confirmed he may leave Manchester City soon.

Speaking in a lively post-match press conference after the title-deciding win over West Ham United in the final matchday, the highly-rated manager said he is open to talks with City’s hierarchy next season but is closer to leaving the club than staying.

Meanwhile, there have been rumours linking him to a possible return to Barcelona after his spell with City. There were reports Barcelona are still hopeful of having Guardiola back.

Reacting to the rumours and the possibility of his return to the Catalan club, the managerial genius said the door to a return to Camp Nou has been closed.

“Is the door closed for your possible return to Barcelona in the future?”.

“Yes, door closed,” he says.

The 53-year-old has one year left on his contract after he penned down a two-year new contract with the club in 2023.

Sources close to Manchester City reveal the club is making preparations for a successor for the Spaniard should he choose to step aside after next season when his contract expires.

Girona manager Michel Sanchez has been reportedly identified as a top candidate to replace Pep Guardiola if the two-time treble-winner leaves at the end of next season.
