Manchester United set for new contract for Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are making progress in their move to renew the club’s manager Erik ten Hag’s contract. After a lengthy end-of-the-season review and exploring possible replacement options, United decided to settle for a new deal with the Dutch tactician.

However, the Sun reported the decision to broker a new contract with Erik ten Hag was not a foregone conclusion following the Dutchman’s tell-all interview that got members of the club’s hierarchy on their nerves.  Now, against the backdrop of the strained relationship, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed United are progressing in the contract renewal process.

The Bavarians’ new manager Vincent Kompany is said to be a strong admirer of the Nigeria forward and could make a move for the player this summer. Lookman stole the show in the 2024 Europa League final with a sublime and remarkable performance for Atalanta. However, the move is set to suffer setback as Chelsea reportedly want nothing less than £37million for the player. Meanwhile, the two Serie A suitors aren’t ready to fork out the said price for Lukaku and are hoping to have the Blues reduce their pecking before going further with a move
