Euro 2024: Spain 4-1 Georgia, La Roja Roared Into Quarterfinals! [VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS]

Four different goalscorers found the back of the net for Spain as they came from behind to put Georgia to rout and qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, MySportDab reports.

As expected La Roja got off to a fiery start, dominating proceedings and pushing earnestly for an early goal.

They suffered a big setback when Georgia broke on a quick counter and did damage just 18 minutes into proceedings.

Spain defender Le Normand mistakenly got the ball into his own net. The defender met the opponent’s cross on the wrong side of his body after coming under pressure from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. The deflection wrong-footed his goalkeeper and looped into the net.

It was an unlikely lead for a Georgian side who had struggled to match La Roja’s clinical and graceful sail right from the start.

Going down by a lone goal against the run of play, the Luis de La Fuente-led side, considered favourites to win the competition, ramped up the pressure for an equaliser.

It was still a deadlock going forward until the 39th minute when Rodri finally got to even the scores. Rodri’s goal ensured the game was tied at the break.

In the second half, La Roja continued on their ascendant and finally completed the comeback in the 51st minute, thanks to a beautiful goal by Fabian Ruiz.

15 minutes before regulation time, Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams extended the lead for the team, making it 3-1.

It was a game over for the Georgian side, who had hoped to pull an upset with the early goal.

Meanwhile, La Roja weren’t done with scoring despite going 3-1 up. Seven minutes before regulation time, Dani Olmo completed the rout, scoring to make it 4-1.

Proceedings ended win the classic Spanish side grabbing a deserved 4-1 win to qualify for the last 8 of the tournament. They will take on tournament hosts Germany in a titanic quarter-final clash following the victory.
