Kelechi Iheanacho is set to join Sevilla in La Liga after running out of his Leicester City contract, MySportDab reports.

The slated move comes after weeks of speculation on the future of the Super Eagles forward following his expired contract with the Foxes.

Notably, Iheanacho could have continued his career with Leicester City if he wanted. The Premier League outfit wanted to renew his contract but he turned down the offer.

He was linked with a move to Aston Villa with Aston Villa manager, Unai Emery said to be a big fan of the forward due to his prolific attacking skills.

Sevilla were also interested in a move for the attacking midfielder to replace Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri, whon they sold to Fenerbahce in Turkey this summer.

Now, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla have finalized terms with Iheanacho to sign the player this summer. The Nigeria international is expected to replace En-Nesyri in the club’s attack.

Details of the transfer report reveal the two parties have reached agreement on all terms with the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner set for a new chapter with the La Liga oufit.

Iheanacho will become the second Nigerian player to join Sevilla this summer after Ejuke Chidera also completed a move to the club, joining from Belgium club, Ejuke Chidera.

Iheanacho was thrust into spotlight following his FIFA U-17 World Cup winning campaign with Nigeria Golden Eaglets. He joined Manchester City academy after the tournament and broke into the club’s first team before leaving to Leicester City in 2017.

He has spent even seasons with the club and was crucial to their all-conquering run in the English second-tier last season which saw the team win promotion back to the Premier League on first attempt.

He played 26 matches in the campaign, scoring 6 goals and delivering 3 assists. He will reportedly travel to Spain next week for his unveiling by the La Liga outfit.
