Kylian Mbappe Buys French Football Club

Former PSG and now Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is a club owner, MySportDab reports.

The French footballing sensation is already taking a big leap in his career, balancing a scintillating club career with a sleek and classy investment plan.

According to a report shared by Fabrizio Romano and other French outlets, Mbappe has sealed an agreement with the French second-division club, Caen, to become the club’s majority shareholder.

The deal is set to make the 25-year-old the majority owner of the club. Fabrizio Romano confirmed an agreement has been reached with the club’s hierarchy for Mbappe to buy 80% of the club’s shares.

A breakdown of the terms of the agreement reveals Mbappe will acquire his 80% stake at the club by investing a whooping €15m in the club. He has reportedly included his family as part of the ownership deal.

The deal is set to have been brokered by a top French wealth management firm, Coalition Capital, who are in charge of the investments by Kylian Mbappe and his family.

Mbappe reportedly had trials with Caen while in the nascent stages of his career before his breakout with Monaco.

The deal has seen the player reinvest the proceeds of his lucrative football career into the club that played a role in his rise to the summit of the game.

The co-owner of the club, Pierre-Antoine Capton, is set to retain his minority shares but Kylian Mbappe will now take charge of the club, handling key decisions and the overall running of the outfit.

Caen plays in the French second division. Mbappe’s heavy capital outlay is expected to help rebrand and finance operations as the club bids for promotion into the French top flight.

Notably, Mbappe’s €15m capital investment in Caen is just a minute fraction of his career earnings. The French footballer’s estimated net worth in 2024 is £110m, according to Forbes.
