Manchester United fans are fearing a possible lengthy injury spell for their new signing Leny Yoro, MySportDab reports.

Viral footage, available at the end of this post, has shown the young French defender limping on crutches, further raising questions over his possible return to action.

Manchester United were outclassed by Premier League rivals Arsenal in their pre-season friendly in the USA. However, attention turned away from the result of the match to the injury of Leny Yoro, who joined the club on a £54m transfer from Lille.

Yoro was not the only United player down with injury in the match. £73m 2023 summer signing from Atalanta, Rasmus Hojlund, who scored United’s only goal in the game, was also down with an injury.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro had to be subbed off before the first half of the game elapsed.

There has been concern over the state of fitness of the two players after the injury. Rasmus Hojlund appeared to have picked up a hamstring issue while Leny Yoro apparently suffered a muscle injury.

The update on the duo’s injury has yet to be confirmed. Speaking after the match, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said a report on the injury should be expected in 24 hours after they are assessed by the club’s medical team.

While fans await further information on the injuries, concerning footage has shown Leny Yoro on crutches, further sparking fears he may be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

In the footage, the 18-year-old wore a protective boat and limped on crutches to the team’s coach in the company of one of his teammates.

Yoro made a roaring start in United’s shirt, playing a crucial role in the club’s 2-0 win over Scottish side Rangers.

Despite the recent footage, United fans are hopeful of a positive update on the injury situation and his possible return to action soon.

However, from the foregoing, it is unlikely he will feature in the club’s remaining pre-season friendlies, including United’s opening Premier League match.

There are also hopes Hojlund should be back to action at the start of the campaign.
