Lionel Messi In Tears After Gruesome Injury In Copa America Final [Video]

Argentina defended Copa America title at the Hard Rock Stadium in USA against Colombia but it was not an entirely great night for Lionel Messi, MySportDab reports.

Overshadowed by Colombia’s intense play right from the first half, Messi’s worst moment came in the second half, a few minutes after the hour-mark.

After making an attempt on ball recovery, the Inter Miami sensation plunged to the ground due to an awkward injury incident. Unable to continue with play, he signaled to be subbed off while the encounter entered the crucial minutes.

Known for his playmaking roles and unrivaled depth of creativity, Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaling had no option but to sub him off with Gonzalez coming on.

Gonzalez perfectly filled the gap left the premature exit of the footballing sensation with Argentina back in the game. However, it was not looking for Lionel Messi off the field.

After being help off the field, he was seen on the Argentina bench with eyes full of tears (check footage at the end of this post), indicating the footie star must have picked up a gruesome injury.

As of the time of filing this report details of the injury have yet to be disclosed. However, close sources have gathered that he picked up a leg injury.

Argentina finally subdued a more clinical Colombia team with an extra-time goal by Inter Miami forward, Lautaro Martinez in the 112th minute.

Away from the injury scare, Messi, perhaps, allayed fears of a lengthy injury layoff when he was seen on his feet, jumping to celebrate the victory at the blast of the final whistle.
