Man United Sign Youngster Chidozie Obi-Martins From Arsenal, Who Is He? [Video]

Manchester United have signed sensational youngster Chidozie Obi-Martins from Arsenal, MySportDab reports.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 2007-born attacking talent has chosen Manchester United despite bids from other top clubs.

Sources close to Arsenal reveal the London outfit were close to keeping Chidozie Obi-Martins on a new contract but the youngster turned down the offer for a move to Manchester United.

He announced his departure from Arsenal on July 30 after agreeing terms with Manchester United.

His pathway to first-team football is said to have played a crucial role in his decision to leave Arsenal for United.

Who is Chidozie Obi-Martins?

Chidozie Obi-Martins, born on November 19, 2007, is a Denmark youth soccer star set for a spell with Manchester United after playing for Arsenal youth.

The Glostrup-born youngster played as a striker for Arsenal U-18s from 2022 to 2024 after joining the club’s Academy from Kjobenhavns Boldklub in Denmark.

Obi-Martins made a speedy rise through the ranks in Arsenal Academy. After joining the Hale End Academy in 2022, he was immediately promoted to the U-18s in 2023. He started with the Gunners’ U-18s with a bang, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 demolition of Southampton in September 2023.

The 4-0 demolition of Southampton was just the tip of the iceberg for the fast-rising youngster. On November 18, 2023, the young forward scored an astonishing ten goals in Arsenal’s 14-3 victory over Liverpool. Again, he scored seven goals in the Gunners 9-0 win over Norwich City in April 2024.

Spotting his immense talent, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta drafted him to the Gunners’ first-team training but he was yet to be handed his first-team debut.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in keeping the youngster but he turned down a new contract offer and opted to leave the club.

His decision has been linked to a desire to taste first-team professional football. However, MySportDab understands he has been placed in Manchester United U-18s with the club expected to watch his development in the Old Trafford Academy.

Also, Manchester United’s new coaching staff and former player Ruud Van Nistelrooy is said to have played a role in convincing Chidozie Obi-Martins to join United’s project, assuring the youngster of a brighter prospect with United.
