Mason Greenwood Returns To Training in Manchester With Teammate

Mason Greenwood is back to Manchester and has been in his first training session in the City after returning from his loan spell at Getafe, MySportDab reports.

The 22-year-old, donning a Jamaican national team shirt, was seen joining former Manchester United teammate, Shola Shoretire, to resume training as he awaits another crucial chapter in his bedraggled career.

In a footage shared by The Mirror, Greenwood could be seen beaming with smiles as he get on with the drill with Shoretire in preparation for the next season.

Recall the prolific right-winger had his promising career soiled in 2022 after his girlfriend, Harriet Robson, accused him of rape, assault, and coercive behavior.

After footage of the alleged incident swarm the media, Greenwood was arrested for prosecution by Manchester Police. Uniter suspended the youngster at the instance of the arrest. What followed was a dragging legal process which ground his career to a halt.

However, there was finally light at the end of the tunnel as all charges against him were dropped after witnesses to the case withdrew.

The shock twist to the legal procedure saw Greenwood regain his freedom but he was not allowed back to United first-team as the club proceeded on internal investigations to ascertain the facts of the matter.

After investigations, Greenwood came out unscathed. However, protests by sections of United fans against his reintegration into the team forced the club to loan him to Getafe last season on a short-term deal.

Six months with Getafe was enough for Greenwood to pick his mangled career from the dust and breath life back into it. He starred for the Azulones, scoring 8 La Liga goals with 6 assists to reach his career-best tally in a single season and win the club’s Player of The Season Award.

Getafe were intent on keeping him again on another loan deal but United wanted a permanent exit solution for the youngster this summer. So, advances by Getafe president Angel Torres were turned down.

MySportDab understands United have slammed a £40million asking price on the English forward and are not ready for a cut-price deal for him despite lacking offers yet meeting the price.

Lazio, Olympique Marseille, Juventus, including Fenerbahce have been linked to the youngster but a deal has yet to be brokered.

Manchester United will resume pre-season training on Monday, July 8, with Greenwood’s place in the team yet to be ascertained.

Sources close to the club have revealed the player is likely to return to first-team training pending when the club will bag an offer for his transfer exit.

However, as things stand, nothing has yet to be ascertained. The recent appearance in training in Manchester delineates the readiness of the youngster to get back to his game quickly and amidst the uncertainties hovering around his future at the club.
