Olympique Marseille are close to brokering a deal with Manchester United for Mason Greenwood, MySportDab reports
The out-of-favor forward is set for another new chapter away from Manchester United again after his short term loan spell with La Liga Getafe last season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Olympique Marseille, who have made the 22-year-old a prime target, are close to agreeing a deal with United for him.
According to the report, Manchester United are currently locked in talks with Olympique Marseille for Greenwood with the two parties confident of agreeing a deal.
An official bid has been forwarded by the Ligue 1 outfit and it is believed a deal is likely to be reached soon.
Here is what Fabrizio Romano says;
“More on Mason Greenwood. In any case, Man United will include big sell-on clause into the deal.
“It could be even up to 40/50% of the future sale, clubs are in talks about that.
“Olympique Marseille, getting closer after official bid sent.”
Greenwood spent six months on alone to Getafe last season after his 18-month exile from football. He impressed with the La Liga outfit, scoring 8 goals with 6 assists to win the club’s Player Of The Season Award.
Getafe were reportedly interested in a second loan deal for the player but were reportedly turned down by Manchester United, who previously wanted a permanent exit solution for the player.
Now, the Old Trafford outfit are open to a loan transfer for the player with Olympique Marseille now leading the race. Serie A outfit, Lazio, including La Liga side Valencia are also among clubs interested in Greenwood.
