Chelsea star, Wesley Fofana, has fired point blank tirade on his teammate, Enzo Fernandez, following the latter’s euphoric racist chant, MySportDab reports.

Enzo Fernandez stoked reactions when he shared footage of Argentina squad, celebrating 2024 Copa America triumph. In the footage, the 23-year-old joined his Argentina teammates in hurling derogatory words and racial slurs on French players.

The footage has since sparked a global outrage, attracting widespread condemnation from various quarters.

Reacting to the video, Wesley Fofana posted the video in social media and wrote, “Football in 2024: uninhibited racism.”

Fofana’s post conveys the disapproval of the French footballer on his teammate Enzo Fernandez’s role in the racism saga. Although sharing the locker room with the Argentine, Fofana openly expressed his displeasure on the chants.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, a football club that has United the two players, have issued a statement, condemning the act while reiterating the club’s commitment to football inclusion and ending racism in the sport.

Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea as the club’s most expensive midfielder from Benfica in 2022, signing for £106million. While he retrains his status as one of the top players in the team, there are suggestions he could face disciplinary actions from the club.

It is not the first time Argentina players have been indicted for racist chants. During World Cup qualifiers match against Brazil, some members of the team reportedly used derogatory racist terms on some Brazilian footballers after a short on-field scuffle.

Enzo Fernandez has apologized for his role in the offensive footage but is likely to face sanctions following widespread condemnation.
