Wilfred Ndidi Signs New Deal with Leicester City: “Unfinished Business”

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his excitement over a new deal with English Premier League club Leicester City, emphasizing his commitment to the club and his belief in the journey ahead, MySportDab Reports.

Ndidi, who has become a cornerstone of the team since his arrival in 2017, has signed a new three-year contract, extending his stay at the King Power Stadium until 2026.

Speaking to the club’s website, Ndidi highlighted his sense of belonging and unfinished business at Leicester City. “There have been great memories at the club, and I’m looking forward to what we are going to create going forward,” the defensive midfielder said. “I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home. That is the most important thing. We know this is where we belong. It’s just that unfinished business that we have to continue.”

The new contract could see Ndidi complete a decade of service at Leicester City. Reflecting on his decision, the former Genk player noted the stability and comfort his family has found in Leicester. “It was quite an easy decision because my family is settled here, my daughter is going to school. It is kind of relaxed because I know that my family is sorted on the other side. It means that I can actually just focus on football,” he added.

Ndidi also shared his enthusiasm for working with the new manager, Steve Cooper. “He shared some good ideas with me. He is a great guy. He is funny. I’m actually looking forward to working with him.

It is very exciting,” the 27-year-old midfielder said. “We know the Premier League is where we belong. We will try our best to also keep it that way, because we want to be here and we want to stay here.”

Last season, Ndidi showcased his talent with Leicester City, contributing significantly to their campaign with four goals, five assists, and maintaining an 82% pass accuracy across 32 league appearances.

His defensive capabilities, combined with his progressive play, make him a valuable asset to the team.

Since joining Leicester City in 2017, Ndidi has made 273 appearances and scored 17 goals for the club. His tenure includes winning the FA Cup, the Charity Shield, and the Championship, solidifying his place as a key player in the squad.

With his new contract, Ndidi is set to continue his impactful presence in Leicester City’s midfield, aiming to help the team achieve new heights and maintain their Premier League status. His commitment and performance are expected to be crucial as the Foxes look forward to the upcoming seasons.
