Atletico Madrid are not slowing down in their attempt to secure the services of Manchester City attacking sensation, Julian Alvarez, MySportDab reports.
The La Liga top side had identified the 24-year-old as a prime attacking prospect to boost the club’s attack next season. We reported earlier they have submitted an undisclosed initial offer for the player.
The bid followed simultaneous talks with Manchester City for the services for the World Cup winner. Now, according to the latest report by Fabrizio Romano, Atleti have improved their bid for Alvarez following overnight talks with Manchester City.
The new improved bid, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, is €75m. This is slightly below Julian Alvarez’s market value, which is estimated at €90m, as per transfermarkt.

Negotiations led by CEOs Gil Marín and Ferran Soriano, Fabrizio Romano says
While Atletico are pushing hard to sign Julian Alvarez, there are other intricacies that could influence the move. As revealed by the Transfer expert yesterday, Atletico Madrid are hoping to sell out Samu Omorodion to Chelsea to pave way for Julian Alvarez’s arrival.
Talks with Chelsea for Omorodion is said to be progressing with both sides hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.
Meanwhile, Manchester City would not want to sell Julian Alvarez but sources close to the club have revealed the Premier League champions will not make attempts to block Alvarez’s switch to the La Liga club if the player wants to leave.
Alvarez has three years left on his Manchester City contract but has struggled for regular game time, playing second fiddle to Norwegian attacking sensation, Erling Haaland.
A move to Atletico Madrid could see the World Cup winner return to the apex of his game with week-in and week-out bash of action for the Madrid-based outfit.
