Bruno Labbadia is a German Football coach who is currently handling Nigeria’s National team since his appointment in 2024.

The tactician has earned himself a name with his career coaching numerous clubs in Europe mainly in the German League.

He was born February 8, 1966 in Darmstadt. Bruno Labbadia is born and bred in Germany alongside his entire family.

His family background is said to be from Italy before they found themselves in Germany where he spent his life.

He is originally from Lenola which is a place in Lazio, Italy before his entire family had the opportunity to move to Germany as Gastarbeiter.

His time at Hamburg was productive, and in 1989, Labbadia moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern where things were good.

As of August 27, 2024, it was announced that Bruno Labbadia have been given the mantle of taking over the Super Eagles coaching job.

His appointment comes after a messy situation which led to Finidi George leaving the position after some bad results.

The NFF took the decision to bring in Bruno Labbadia with his expertise to ensure everything get back to working.

The appointment came after several meetings was held with a number of available coaches which an agreement wasn’t reached.

The NFF had to take their time in ensuring they put everything into consideration before making the appointment.

Finidi George appointment was one which came after the National team bid goodbye to Jose Peseiro who guided them to the AFCON 2024 final.

Things under Finidi got off a promising start in a friendly match against Ghana which ended 2-1 in favor of the coach.

However things hit rock bottom with the Super Eagles failing to do anything much as they dropped points in their World Cup qualifiers.

The poor form and results were also hit with Victor Osimhen going live on Instagram to call out Finidi George in what quickly became messy.

Things from that moment have seen some changes done which a new coach for the Super Eagles have been appointed.
