Chelsea have signed Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho in another transfer deadline-day shocker, MySportDab reports.
Sancho, who was dropped from Manchester United’s matchday squad in the opening two matches in the Premier League this season, was linked to a move away from the club.
Recall the English winger had settled his beef with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after he returned from a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
He featured in the club’s pre-season, including first team training sessions but regular game time was hard to come by. So, a move away from the club was at the corner.
Juventus had a long-standing interest in the player and were advancing in talks with United but could not broker a deal due to a bruhaha over the asking price.
According to TEAMtalk, United weren’t budging in their £40m demand for Sancho and Juventus consider the pecking too high.
Meanwhile, Chelsea would make a late transfer swoop for the player as they seek to bolster their ranks in the wings with Raheem Sterling not finding favor in new manager Enzo Maresca’s scheme of things.
Now, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have pulled through a late transfer swoop for Jadon Sancho, signing the player from United on loan.
Details of the deal reveal that an ‘obligation to buy clause’ has been attached. This implies Chelsea will compulsorily buy out Jadon Sancho after his loan deal expire at the end of the campaign.
The move marks the end of Jadon Sancho’s three-year spell with Manchester United. He made 83 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.
