Cole Palmer has penned down a new contract with Chelsea following an impressive debut campaign with the club last season, MySportDab reports.
In a report from Chelsea’s website, the club confirmed the youngster has committed his future to a new two-year contract extension.
“Chelsea is thrilled to announce Cole Palmer has signed a two-year contract extension until 2033,” the report on the club’s website reads.
Reacting to his new deal with the London outfit, Palmer expressed his excitement for the new deal as he braces for an extended stint with the club.
The prolific attacker noted his contributions for the club last season, adding that he hopes to achieve more going forward.
“I achieved a lot in my first season here and hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea,” he added.
Cole Palmer joined Chelsea on September 1, 2023 for £42.5m, signing an eight-year contract. His initial contract was set to run through to 2031. The new deal will see the 22-year-old continue with Chelsea till 2033, as confirmed by the club.
Palmer’s new Chelsea contract was long envisaged following his standout performances for the club last season.
The Manchester City Academy graduate took the Premier League by storm in the Blues’ shirt, scoring 22 Premier League goals with 11 assists.
He was crowned the Premier League Young Player of the Season following the stellar campaign.
MySportDab understands the new deal is coming with improved wage terms for the player, who was initially placed on £80,000 weekly.
While detail of the new salary have yet to be disclosed, a significant raise in the previous offer is more likely to see the footballer break into the ranks of top earners at the club with over £100,000 weekly.
Meanwhile, he will hope to continue on his stellar run for the club in the upcoming campaign as the Blues prepare to kick off their 2024-25 Premier League campaign at home to defending Champions Manchester City.
