Joao Pedro’s late goal was enough as Brighton beat Manchester United 2-1 in the Premier League matchday 2 opener, MySportDab reports.

It was a struggle in the first half for the Devils who had everything going their way but chased the match from behind.

The match wasn’t that bad with both teams giving it their best and it was the home side who were able to grab all three points after 90 minutes.

First Half Report

It was back-and-forth play between both teams from kickoff which saw them pushing from both ends to make something happen.

Brighton and Hove Albion held their ground while ensuring they saw themselves creating few opportunities that benefited nothing as they carried on.

Manchester United had more of the ball but they couldn’t keep their defense clean as Danny Welbeck haunt them down in the 32nd minute with an assist from Kaoru Mitoma to make it 1-0.

There was another moment in the match which saw Marcus Rashford’s goal being checked by VAR but nothing came out of it as the scoreline stayed the same.

Brighton and Hove Albion had themselves lucky entering into the break with a 1-0 lead against Manchester United who were unable to benefit from the 45 minute.

Second Half Report

The second half resumed with Erik Ten Hag taking out Mason Mount and decided to bring on Joshua Zirkzee which changed things a bit.

Manchester United didn’t take long before Amad Diallo scored in the 60th minute with an assist from Noussair Mazraoui making sure things became 1-1.

Brighton was given a bit of hope as VAR had to check but couldn’t find anything that could lead to the goal being chopped off as they carried on.

Joshua Zirkzee scored in the 70th minute but once again it was VAR that came in and flagged the goal as an offside leaving things 1-1.

The game was going well until last last-minute goal from Joao Pedro ensured Brighton ended the match beating Manchester United 2-1 after 90 minutes.
