FT: Manchester City 1-1 Manchester United, 7-6 Pen’ City WIN COMMUNITY SHIELD! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

Manchester City claimed the community shield after beating Manchester United 7-6 on penalties after playing 1-1, MySportDab reports.

Both teams came for the Community Shield with so much at the back of their minds to ensure winning was the only goal.

First Half Report 

Both teams had their moments from kickoff which saw them pushing with confidence on their side to see what could happen.

It was Manchester City who started on a good note by showing dominance and trying to explore the weakness of their opponent which wasn’t possible.

Meanwhile, for Manchester United, it was the same task for them to try and see what they could make for themselves, but it was just different opportunities coming through.

The tempo of the game was high with them still looking at making something happen which wasn’t coming forth with things staying 0-0 between them.

Manchester City and Manchester United carried on with the first half until things came to an end with 0-0 after 45 minutes of action played.

Second Half Report 

A lot was coming from both ends in the remaining 45 minutes which saw them trying to carve something out for themselves.

Manchester United looked good and promising from their end as they tried seeking the lead which Marcus Rashford saw an opportunity but missed.

Manchester City also had something to show for their dominance despite no goal coming with things hitting the one-hour mark and still goalless.

Alejandro Garnacho left left-footed strike in the 82nd minute made sure the Devils took a 0-1 lead thanks to a wonderful assist from Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester City did leveled things in the 89th minutes through Bernardo Silva which saw the game ended 1-1 with Manchester United after 90 minutes.

Penalties

Both teams came out for the penalties with Bernardo Silva missing the first before Jadon Sancho missed the fourth for his side to make things level.

The penalties continued between both teams until Jonny Evans missed which saw Manchester City claim a 7-6 victory on penalties to win the Community Shield.
