Turkish football authorities have begun investigation after viral footage of a fan beating up Fenerbache President Ali Koc emerged, MySportDab reports.

In a sad turn of events at the Goztepe stadium, a marauding fan beat the barricades, stormed into the pitch and began raining punches on Fenerbache President Ali Koc.

The unidentified aggressor first pushed Ali Koc on getting to meet the football chief and then deal him blows severally before stadium security operatives could intervened.

Koc was then seen leaving the pitch with a heavy security detail after the assault. It is yet unknown why the fan went so violent on Koc. However, investigations has begun to unravel further details of the incident.

Meanwhile, the viral footage, shared on X, has already attracted a heavy backlash with football fans decrying the rising cases of football-related violence in Turkey Super Lig.

Recall that in March 2024, towards the ending of the 2023-24 campaign, Fenerbache and Trabzonspor match descended into chaos. Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch and attacked players after Michy Batshuayi scored a late winner for Fenerbache.

Apparently unsettled at the late goal by the former Chelsea star, the fans beat the barricades, stormed into the pitch and fought the players.

Match officials were also attacked in a grim incident that overshadowed the match. It is hope Turkish football authorities will step up measures to curtail the soaring violence in the sport in the country.

Meanwhile, the Goztepe Vs Fenerbache match ended in a 2-2 draw after the hosts fought back in the second half to cancel out Edin Dzeko and En-Nesyri’s first-half goals.

The Jose Mourinho-led side now have four points in their first two games into the season after winning Adana Demirspor by a lone goal in the opening match
