PSG have unveiled the club’s new signing Joao Neves from Portuguese giants Benfica, MySportDab reports.
Neves, who attracted interests from top clubs in Europe following his standout performances for Benfica, is now set for a fresh new chapter with the Ligue 1 champions.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Joao Neves is joining PSG on a a five-year contract until 2029. The financial details of the deal reveal the Ligue giants will pay a total of €70m, comprising €60m transfer fee and €10m as add-ons.
Also, as part of the deal, out-of-favor PSG player, Renato Sanchez has been sent on a season-long loan deal to the Portuguese outfit with a buy-out option.
Reacting to his move to the Ligue 1 giants, Jaoa Neves expressed his delight in joining the club and particularly playing under Luis Enrique.
According the young midfielder, the PSG boss is one of the reasons he chose to join PSG from Benfica due to his football philosophy which resonates with him.
“Luis Enrique’s philosophy is the one that I was looking for, and that’s also why I chose PSG”.
“I really enjoyed our conversation. He’s a fantastic person, and I’m really happy to be here,”he said.
Joao Neves made his first senior career appearance playing for Benfica reserve team in 2022. He made 11 appearances for the team and also played for the first team that same year.
He made 50 Primera Liga appearances for Benfica, scoring four goals. The youngster will hope to continue on his prolific career start as he takes up a new challenge with PSG in the French top flight.
