Victor Osimhen could be heading to Saudi Arabia as Chelsea dilly-dally on their move for the forward, MySportDab reports.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saudi club Al-Ahli, have tabled a bid in excess of €65million to Napoli for the player.
The Saudi Pro League side are hopeful of adding the sensational forward to their attacking options this summer.
Al-Ahli’s bid for Nigeria international is coming at the back of id bedraggled transfer saga involving the player.
Premier League club, Chelsea, have had a long-standing interest in Victor Osimhen but a deal with Napoli for the player has proved impossible due to Napoli’s €130 asking price.
Apart from Napoli’s sky-high asking price for Osimhen, the player seems to have added a layer of fresh hurdle to Chelsea’s interest. According to the Sun, he has asked for a deal worth £500,000 as weekly wage.
This could literally makes the Napoli sensation the Premier League’s highest-paid player but it is understood that Chelsea are not likely to agree to the demand.
This has been attested to by the decision of club to conduct Romelu Lukaku’s deal with Napoli as a separate after reports that they wanted a swap deal.
With a move to Chelsea looking unlikely, Al-Ahli have now emerged to vy for the services of the 2022-23 Serie A Golden Boot winner with the €65million offer.
With Al-Ahli’s offer on the ground, Osimhen is reportedly considering his options. Napoli are open to his move and could be forced to settle for a lesser offer than their €135million release clause.
Osimhen had initially rejected a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal in 2023 as he wanted to continue his career in Europe. Now, he could be forced to settle for an offer from the Gulf State as he has literally five days to sort his transfer to a European club.
