Victor Osimhen has yet to settle for a new club with the 2024-25 summer transfer window winding down soon, MySportDab reports.

The Nigeria international has been linked to PSG and Chelsea with both clubs having met Napoli at the negotiation table for the player.

At the time of filing this report, it is understood PSG’s move for Osimhen has stalled. Recall the Ligue 1 giants agreed personal terms with Victor Osimhen to sign the player.

However, the stumbling block to the move was Napoli’s refusal to budge on their valuation of the player. Note that the 2022-23 Serie A champions slammed a €130m price tag on Osimhen as his release after the 25-year-old signed a new contract with the club in December 2023.

With PSG’s move for Osimhen stalled, Chelsea emerged into the scene, having been long-standing admirers of the forward following his heroics for Napoli in their 2022-23 Scudetto-winning campaign.

Following weeks of talks and negotiations with Napoli, the Blues have yet to record a breakthrough to land the player and have switched attention to other striker targets.

This has led to reports that the club’s move for Osimhen must have likely collapsed with the recruiters at Cobham looking for alternatives.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are not totally out of the race for Victor Osimhen. They are still interested in the player but will hope Napoli peck down their asking price for a deal to be sealed.

Osimhen’s transfer situation now is dicey and uncertain. He has asked to leave the club and has been axed off new manager Antonio Conte’s squad plan.

Also, Napoli have decided to pursue a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku separately from Osimhen after they initially consider a swap option that will include the player.

The intriguing transfer saga may likely be resolved in the last hours of the transfer window and such resolution will include Napoli reducing their asking price for Osimhen.
