Victor Osimhen’s slated move to Chelsea did not go through after a dragging transfer saga, MySportDab reports.

It marked the end of a bedraggled transfer saga that saw the player dominate the transfer headlines with Al-Ahli and Chelsea being big mentions in the race.

Before we proceed to why Osimhen’s proposed move to Chelsea failed, we have confirmed from credible sources that the deal had collapsed with Chelsea refusing to proceed further while Osimhen accepts his fate of not finding a new club before the transfer window closed.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal is totally off as Chelsea chose to walkaway after Osimhen refused to reach an agreement for a deal.

On the reason Chelsea’s move for Victor Osimhen collapsed, multiple sources have confirmed the two parties could not agree on personal terms, particularly on Osimhen’s salary terms.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea offered Osimhen about £336,000 weekly wage but Osimhen wanted more. However, it is pertinent to note that this figure as put forward by Sky Sports is a subject of dispute.

Other sources said Chelsea offered Osimhen £295,000 weekly. The true value of what the London club offered the Nigeria international has yet to be ascertained but what is certain  is that the offer did not meet Osimhen’s demand, hence the breakdown in talks.

Further details reveal Osimhen did not call back Chelsea’s negotiating team when the final offer was put forward with only two hours left before the transfer window closed.

So, Chelsea assumed the deal is off since they could not get a response from the player’s camp after putting forward the final proposal.

Note that Al-Ahli, who later settled for Ivan Toney instead of Osimhen, offered the footballer a whooping £650,000 per week.

According to Fabrizio Romano, there is still a way out for Osimhen. Saudi clubs can still go after the player in the next three days but if nothing happens he will remain with Napoli but will not be a part of the first team.
