Casemiro Dropped Vs Southampton Match After Liverpool Horror Show

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dropped Casemiro in Man United’s Premier League match against Southampton after his grave blunder against Liverpool, MySportDab reports.

Casemiro gave away two quick goals in Manchester United’s shock home defeat to Premier League arch-rivals Liverpool in their last Premier League match.

The loss saw Manchester United wrapped up their first three Premier League matches of the season on a disappointing before the September international break.

Whether the Red Devils would have gotten something out of the clash against Liverpool is unknown but Casemiro bore the brunt of the loss after his mistakes cost the team to concede twice in seven minutes from Luis Diaz’s brace.

Casemiro’s mistake led to him being subbed off at the break with Man United’s academy starlet Toby Collyer coming on.

Meanwhile, speculations has been rife on his place and future at the club especially with United’s £50.6m acquisition of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

With the club set to take on Southampton in their next Premier League clash, Erik ten Hag has dropped him from the team.

Speaking in pre-match press conference, ten Hag revealed he has spoken to Casemiro and is hoping he will overcome the setback.

“Everyone can have a bad day at the office. Of course I speak with him about the situation. ‘It’s not the first time I guess he’s had to deal with a bad game, now he has to overcome this one as well,”he said.

Specifically addressing Casemiro’s chances in the team, the Dutchman admitted he needs the Brazilian as much as he also needs a strong squad that players compete for places.

“He understands and all the players will understand. Then it’s about what is the best fit for the team. They have to prove it – that’s the key word – they have to take responsibility and win games for the club.”

Ten Hag had admitted that Ugarte came back tired after being in action for Uruguay during the international break.

Casemiro did not receive Brazil call-up during the international break and was tipped to return to the starting lineup against Southampton but has been axed out with Ugarte taking his place.

Is this the end of Casemiro’s spell with Manchester United?
