EA FC 25 Ratings: Lionel Messi’s Rating Drops, C.Ronaldo Out! [See Full List]

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the major talking point as EA Sports releases its long-awaited ratings for footballers in the second edition of its football-themed video game, EA FC 25, MySportDab reports.

Over the years, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have enjoyed an unrivaled dominance in the popular football video game which rates players based on their real-life performances and stats.

In 2024 which saw EA sports debut its first edition of the video game since it ended its partnership with FIFA in 2023, Ronaldo bagged an overall rating of 86.

Lionel Messi was rated 90 overall, four points more than Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, the new ratings, as released by EA Sports on Monday night, has seen the two players dropped down the pecking order, marking a new low in their career.

Lionel Messi has made the top 25 in the new ratings but his rating has dropped drastically to 88. It is the lowest rating card the player in 16 years.

Messi made his debut on the popular video game with a 78 rating. He rose to 84 in 2007 and then 86 in 2008.

Since he was handed the 86 rating in 2008, Messi has maintained the top two spot on the video game with Cristiano Ronaldo with a 90+ rating card.

Cristiano Ronaldo dropped to his all-time low in the 2024 edition of the game. The Portuguese has retained the rating in the latest edition but has fallen out of the top 25.

Ronaldo and Messi’s drop on the EA FC 25 ratings, signals the end of the duo’s over-a-decade dominance of football.

A new breed of young footballers featuring the likes of Vinicius Jr, Erling Haaland, and Jude Bellingham are gradually succeeding the old guard.
