Four Top European Clubs Line Up For January Move For Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood has emerged as a top transfer target for top European clubs following his standout performances for Olympique Marseille in French Ligue 1, MySportDab reports.

The former Manchester United winger could return to an elite club playing in the Champions League in January after a groundbreaking start to life in the French top flight.

On August 17, 2024, Greenwood got off to a bright start on his first Ligue 1 match, scoring a first-half brace in Olympique Marseille’s 5-1 away win over Brest at the Stade Francis-Le Blé.

In his second match on August 25, 2024, he was again on target with a 71st-minute equalizer as Marseille fought Reims to a 2-2 draw at home at the Stade Velodrome.

In his third match for The Olympians, the sensational forward scored the quickest Ligue 1 brace, separated by a few seconds in the 16th and 17th minute as the team roared to a 3-1 away win over Toulouse at the Stadium de Toulouse.

His three-match unbroken goal-scoring streak at the start of the campaign saw the team rise to second on the Ligue 1 table with 10 points, only behind PSG, who have racked up a maximum of 12 points from four games.

Notably, Greenwood is now leading the French Ligue I top scorers with his five goals in four matches for the club.

He will hope to continue on his sensational start to life as Olympique Marseille, under the tutelage of new manager Roberto De Zerbi challenges for the Ligue 1 title.

Meanwhile, according to a report shared by Transfer Live, the English winger has attracted interest from top clubs in Europe following his impressive start to life with Olympique Marseille.

Leading the list of clubs interested in his services are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and PSG.

All four clubs, who are leading favourites in the ongoing 2024-25 UEFA Champions League, are said to be interested in a possible January move for the footballer.

Greenwood joined Olympique Marseille in a deal worth £26.7m, signing a five-year contract until 2029 but could be open to a bigger club in the January transfer window.
