Diogo Jota scored a brace as Liverpool beat West Ham United 5-1 to qualify for the EFL Carabao Cup next round, MySportDab reports.
It was a hard fought encounter which the Hammers gave in with everything they had to offer going forward.
Arne Slot saw his side pushed through by getting the job done at their home ground which wasn’t an easy test.
First Half Report
A good start with both teams having to deal with so much as they wanted to make it into the next round of the competition.
It was an end to end battle which saw Liverpool being pushed back despite their dominance in the encounter which was huge.
West Ham United stunned the reds in the 21st minutes after forcing an own-goal off Quansah which saw things turned 0-1.
It was a short lived celebration for the Hammers as Diogo Jota pulled the home side level through a goal which came in the 25th minutes to make it 1-1 with Chiesa assist.
The first half concluded with Liverpool and West Ham United both settling for a 1-1 scoreline after 45 minutes of action between them.
Second Half Report
The second half was good between both teams as they came in doing things different to make sure they power through.
Liverpool quickly made it count in the 48th minutes through Diogo Jota who made things 2-0 and a brace for himself with a Curtis Jones assist.
West Ham United kept at it as they seemed balanced and did pushed for something tangible which didn’t happen for them.
Mohamed Salah 74th minutes finish was enough to make sure things between both teams increased to 3-1 as they continued.
Alvarez was shown a red card in the 76th minutes before Cody Gakpo made it 4-1 with a stunner in the 90 minutes of action.
He scored a brace in the additional time which increased things to 5-1 with nothing much left to be played.
The game fired on with more action until it came to an end with Liverpool making it through after a 5-1 victory over West Ham United.
