Cristiano Ronaldo scored his career 900th goal as Portugal beat Croatia 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League, MySportDab reports.
The legendary player hit another milestone in his football career which shows how much his consistency has remained over the years.
Robert Martinez started off the Nations League campaign with a victory which gave them three points after 90 minutes.
First Half Report
It was a great start coming from both teams who had so much to do and to play for going forward for the night.
It took Portugal just 7 minutes to take the lead after a wonderful assist from Bruno Fernandes saw Diogo Dalot finish up to make things 1-0.
The encounter carried on with Croatia behind with nothing tangible coming from them as they continued to push for an equalizer.
Cristiano Ronaldo made it count with an outstanding goal which came in the 34th minute making sure the lead was doubled to 2-0.
The first half was far from over as the pressure from the away side saw them force off an own-goal from Diogo Dalot which made things 2-1 in the 41st minute.
Portugal finished the first half with a 2-1 lead against Croatia after a good-fought 45 minutes of non-stop action which came from them.
Second Half Report
Croatia continued the second half in search of an equalizer which proved very difficult for them to make happen as things carried on forward.
Nothing was happening in the match as Portugal did well enough making sure their defending was done perfectly to avoid errors.
The opportunities continued coming in the match but no one on the pitch could maximize any of them with things hitting the 90-minute mark.
There was no goal as the match came to a conclusion with Portugal claiming a 2-1 victory to kickoff their Nations League match against Croatia.
