It was Kylian Mbappe’s day at the Santiago Bernabeu as the French footballing sensation finally break the goal duck in La Liga in style with a double for Real Madrid, MySportDab reports.

After 300 La Liga minutes without a goal, the former PSG forward silenced critics with a match-winning brace against Real Betis on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

Recall Real Madrid opened their La Liga campaign with a disappointing draw against Real Mallorca before edging out Rayo Vallecano in the second match.

Kylian Mbappe, who played the full 90 minutes in both games, blanked in both failing to find the back of the net.

The much-touted forward would find his ground in the third fixture against Real Betis at Santiago Bernabeu, scoring the two goals that saw the La Liga side eased to a 2-0 victory over the visitors.

The first half ended goalless with Real Madrid unable to convert their numerous chances into a goal as the visitors held firm.

It took the Carlo Ancelotti-led side over an hour to get past the visitors with Mbappe rising to the occasion. Latching on a deft backheel flick by Federico Vlaverde, the 25-year-old rifled a thunderous strike into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

His second goal came via a spot-kick after Vinicius Jr was stripped down by an opponent. The referee initially ignored calls to award the spot-kick but gave in after VAR check.

Mbappe converted it sleekly, getting Real Betis goalkeeper to move before he rifled it into the back of the net. Watch Video On YouTube
