Diogo Jota provided the assist for the goal, whipping in a cross for Ibrahim Konate. The French defender perfectly timed and headed it past Johnstone to give the Reds the lead in almost the last touch of the ball before the break.
Nothing changed in the second half, Wolves continued to play second fiddle to Liverpool and made little progress on the attack.
The Reds continued to hold sway over proceedings and it appeared Arne Slot was close to his fifth Premier League win in six matches.
Salah had an early chance in the second half to double the lead but squander it to keep Wolves’ comeback hopes alive.
In the second half, Wolves made a stunning comeback through Ait-Nouri after Ibrahim Konate was dispossessed inside the Reds’ half.
