Manchester United have confirmed the return of Tyrell Malacia to training after a lengthy injury layoff, MySportDab reports.
The Dutch defender, who was signed for £13m from Feyenoord in 2022, missed the entirety of last season due to a knee injury.
Malacia picked up the knee issue while in action for the Netherlands in the 2023 UEFA Nations League, and that would be the last time he would taste football action for about 14 months.
Initially, the 25-year-old was not expected to tarry for long on the sidelines, but after surgery, it turned out to be a lengthy injury challenge.
Now, Manchester United have confirmed the return of the Dutch footballer. The club shared footage of the wing-back returning to first-team training following the lengthy injury spell. Watch Video on Twitter.
However, it is yet unclear whether he will be in action in United’s next Premier League match against Crystal Palace in South London.
Meanwhile, the return is a big boost to the club who have been grappling with a grinding injury crisis in the defense department.
Notably, the club is still sweating with a protracted injury nightmare with Leny Yoro, Rasmus Hojlund, and Luke Shaw yet to return to fitness.
However, they have also been handed a boost not only with the return of Tyrell Malacia but of Victor Lindelof, who was also spotted in team training ahead of the Crystal Palace clash.
Mason Mount is also back to the team after a short spell on the sidelines in additional boost to the club.
With the recent injury boosts, United will hope to continue in winning ways after waving aside the shock 3-0 home loss to Liverpool to win at Southampton and against Barnsley in their last two matches.
They will take on Crystal Palace in their next clash at Selhurst Park with the new returnees from injury in contention to regain their starting spot in the match.
