Erling Haaland Vs Brentford? Pep Guardiola Confirms Update After Shock Death

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed whether Erling Haaland will play against Brentford or not this weekend, MySportDab reports.

The Premier League champions, who have made a roaring start to the season, winning all their matches, may likely miss Erling Haaland in the cracker against Brentford.

Recall the Norwegian sensation was granted a compassionate leave by the club after a close family friend, identified as Ivar Eddjar, 56, was confirmed dead.

Haaland is said to be have been close to late Eddjar and had always referred to him as ‘uncle’ before the shock demise. He was granted leave in honor of the deceased.

However, there are speculations he could be back to the team to play against Brentford this weekend.

Addressing rumors of Haaland’s return for the Brentford match, Man City manager Pep Guardiola left journalists in the dark, admitting it is up to Haaland to decide if he will play or not.

”[It’s a] tough time for him and his family,’ the Spaniard began. ‘Our thoughts are with him and his family and we’ll see tomorrow if he’s able physically and mentally to play.”

Erling Haaland, who has won the Golden Boot back-to-back since his debut campaign in the English, is enroute to another terrific season for City.

He has scored seven goals in the three opening games for the club, including back-to-back hat-tricks in the last two matches. He was in training with the team on Thursday ahead of the Brentford match but the decision to play will the left to him as confirmed by Pep Guardiola.

City will hope to continue on their perfect start when they take on Brentford but could miss the services of the Norwegian forward id he decides not to play.
