Reece James Suffers Fresh Setback, Chelsea Return Delayed

Chelsea defender Reece James may not be returning to the Chelsea squad soon after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, MySportDab reports

The England star was expected to make a return to footballing action early this season after he picked up another injury that consigned him to the sidelines.

Now, a report from sources close to the club have revealed his return will be delayed due to fresh setback on his recovery.

According to The Sun, his recovery has slowed down and the club’s doctors have confirmed the injury has not healed fully.

Reece James picked up a hamstring since last summer and was limited to just 10 Premier League matches last season.

In the 2022-23 season, he could only manage 16 appearances for the club. His current injury problem was picked up this summer but he was expected to return to footballing action early this season.

During the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, he was active and in action but is now set for an extended delay.

Fans will hope that James will overcome his dragging injury crisis and return to footballing action soon.

Meanwhile, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca seems to have settle his beef with the club’s other full-back Ben Chilwell, whom he previously axed out of the squad.

Ben Chilwell is back to Chelsea training and may likely feature for the team ahead of their Premier League match against West Ham United on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
