Trent Alexander-Arnold Confirms Decision on Liverpool Future

Trent Alexander-Arnold has confirmed his decision on his Liverpool future amidst reports linking him to a summer exit from the club, MySportDab reports.

Arnold, 25, has been a cog in Liverpool’s defence in the past eight years since his breakout into senior professional football in 2016.

He has a contract with the club until 2025 and is just three months away from entering talks with other clubs for a potential move away from Anfield.

Surprisingly, at the time of filing this report, Liverpool have yet to settle for a new contract with the England defender and this has further fueled speculations of his his imminent exit.

However, it appears the two parties are negotiating for a new deal behind the scenes with the player now coming out public about his future at the club.

Speaking after assisting Luis Diaz’s second goal in the 3-0 rout of Bournemouth, the homegrown Merseyside footballer said he has been at the club for 20 years, signing several contract extensions, hence the current scenario won’t be different.

“Look, I have been at the club 20 years now. I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public – and this one won’t be either.

‘‘I have always said I want to captain the club – that is an aim and a goal of mine, whether that happens is out of my hands. I want to be a Liverpool player this season (as a minimum) is what I will say. The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest. This season we are looking really good,” he said.

Arnold has started all Liverpool’s five Premier League games under new manager Arne Slot this season. He is expected to play a big role in the Dutchman’s new Liverpool setup.

Hence, a transfer exit may not be likely with the two parties apparently negotiating off media searchlights. Real Madrid have been among top European clubs interested in the 25-year-old.
