Ajax’s new signing and former loanee to Manchester United Wout Weghorst fell off badly with Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber during Netherlands training session in the ongoing September international break, MySportDab reports.
In viral footage that we have shared in this report, Jurrien Timber sparked the confrontation when he appeared to pull a strong tackle on the former Borussia Dortmund forward, who plunged to the ground.
Timber was then seen returning to lift the player up in an apparent recognition of his unfair challenge. However, it appeared Weghorst was already unnerved by the tackle.
The 32-year-old was then seen furiously confronting Timber in the training session to register his displeasure.
Another footage showed the team’s head coach Ronald Koeman steeping in to restore calm and resolved the simmering tension between the two players.
The incident, which surfaced recently on social media, occurred before the team put Bosnia Herzegovina to rout with a thumping 5-2 victory in the UEFA Nations League.
The two players started the match from the bench with Wout Weghorst registering his name on the score sheet
According to Metro, despite staying on to complete the training session with the team, Wout Weghorst wasn’t happy with Timber’s tackle and had brought the issue up again even after Ronald Koeman intervened. Watch The Video On Twitter
There were fears the forward must have picked up an injury die to the tackle but it has been confirmed he is in fine fettle ahead of Netherland’s next UEFA Nations League clash against Germany on Tuesday.
